My flight from Sarajevo was very short, but my stay in Istanbul was even shorter because the corona virus changed all my plans. Therefore, I came back right after the photo shoot. Nothing went according to my plans, which is a new experience I will certainly remember for a long time. Istanbul, well I don’t think there’s much to say about that big city. I love meeting new cultures, so it is definitely unique because of that. The atmosphere in the city centre around Taksim was great, people were very kind. Ibrahim and Bartola also welcomed me very nicely. Their wedding ceremony was held in Nigeria, but since they live and work in Istanbul, they opted for street photos from the centre of the city. Definitely a day and a photo shoot which won’t be forgotten. It was the beginning of March, so the situation with the corona virus was still stable. Everything was still working as usual, but there were fewer people on the main streets, which came in quite handy. The two of them, in love and very relaxed, but well acquainted with photography, headed with me through the streets of Taksim. At one point we even stopped at a mini marked, which was quite cool. Ibrahim bought a few things. The sounds of Turkish music played by an elderly man on the stairs, it was wonderful! In a very short time, they introduced me to the city centre, while we walked from the main square of Taksim to the bridge over the Bosporus. I was thrilled with the city and with those two people!
Bartola and Ibrahim, it was and it will remain a great honour for me to have preserved your love story in the beautiful streets of Istanbul. Thank you for that once again!
